At this time of year, the citrus trees are laden with fruit.
With the abundance of citrus in our neighborhood, we’re able to pick lemons, oranges, and grapefruit as we do our daily walks. The fruits are becoming more difficult to reach as the lower ones are picked, and soon I’ll have to take my little ladder along on walks!
With all the available citrus, I’ve started freezing cubes of orange and lemon juice in ice trays. These are super for adding to cool drinks – from cold water, to ginger rooibos tea, to G&Ts. They look attractive with fresh mint sprigs and give any beverage a boost.
